The ITMP was founded in 1999 with a remit to preserve and promote Traditional music in Inishowen. This work is ongoing through teaching, workshops, concert and event performance.

The project has also been collecting and recording music from Inishowen musicians past and present.

ITMP Folk Club

1999 a Folk Club was set up with acts appearing every two weeks such as Beginish, Na Dorsa, Providence, Paddy Glackin & Michael O Domhnaill, Ciaran Tourish, Mairtin O Connor & Gerry O Bhriain, Frankie Gavin & Arty Mc Glynn, Nollaig Casey, Martin Hayes & Denis Cahill, Cherish the Ladies, Cathal Hadyn, Seamus Begley & Jim Murray, Aileach, Russell’s House, Liz Doherty and Band, Altan,  Ciaran O Mhaonaigh and Paul Doyle.

The project has afiliations with Cairdeas na bhFidileiri, Seamus Mac Giolla Bhride C.C.E. Ceolan School of Music.
