Inishowen Traditional Music Project is delighted to host one of Ireland’s top new bands Moxie for an exciting weekend of workshops and a concert.

“Their music has a solid traditional backbone. Jazz, rock, bluegrass and world music rhythms and harmonies are creatively structured around this base treating the listener to layers of rich and intricate sounds as the band deliver a punchy programme of both their own compositions and old tunes with a new emerald vibe”. On Saturday 10th October Ted Kelly and Cillian Doheny (banjo) along with Jos Kelly and Darren Roche (button accordion) and Paddy Hazelton (percussion) from the group Moxie will be giving workshops in the Colgan Hall, Carndonagh, Inishowen.

This is an excellent opportunity for musicians to come, meet and be taught by vibrant and enthusiastic young musicians.
Workshops will run from 11-1pm and 2-4pm on Sat 10th Oct.

On Sunday 11th October, Moxie will lead an ensemble workshop with advanced musicians from throughout Inishowen. This group will later perform as the opening act at the Moxie concert from 5-7pm also in the Colgan Hall.

Weekend Schedule:

Sat 10th October  -Workshops  11am -1pm & 2-4pm.

  • 2 button accordion workshops-  Intermediate button accordion players & Intermediate/advanced
  • 2 banjo workshops-  Intermediate button accordion players & intermediate-advanced.
  • Percussion workshop.

Fee for workshops is €15, this will include admission to Moxie concert.
