Edel McLaughlin comes from Burnfoot and is a great exponent of the piano accordion, piano and whistle. Edel has received national awards on all three instruments. She is a BA gradute of Music from the University College Cork and completed her master’s in music at the World Academy of Music, University of Limerick. Edel has toured and performed extensively as a solo musician and with groups such as Altan and Liadan. She collaborated with Dinny McLaughlin over the years and devoted much time to collecting and notating his music.
